Amazing You Home Decor

What a glorious weekend!  The weather (yes, we're talking about weather...again), although windy, was spectacular!! I hope you had time to get outside and enjoy a walk or other activity!

I participated in a community event/craft sale on the weekend and had the home decor piece below on display.  I'm guessing by now you know that paper crafting with Stampin' Up! can be more than cards & gift tags!  On a thrifting day, I found this unique frame and instantly fell in love - especially with the galvanized steel!

I had been playing with my Brushos on a full sheet of watercolour paper and achieved a variety of super cool backgrounds.  Once the paper dried, I die cut the watercolour paper & black fun foam using letters from the Large Letters Framelits,

Next I die cut the butterflies using my Butterflies Thinlit Dies, also from the same Brusho-coloured watercolour paper.

Here's how I put this together.
The base is Pool Party, and I added a layer of Wood Textures DSP.  Next, I adhered Delicate White Doilies and the butterflies.  The word 'Love' is popped up with Dimensionals.
The last two die cuts are from the Celebrate You Thinlit Dies (free during Sale-A-Bration).  Lastly, I used Pool Party for 'amazing' and Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper for 'You'.

It's a Groovy Kind of Love

Clearly I'm a child of the 60's, 💖 and I do have a habit of singing songs from many eras.  Since I ordered Brushos & Stampin' Blends, I've been experimenting with colours and that might be what's behind this 'groovy' stage.

I started my card with a base of Basic Black cardstock, then cut a piece of Springtime Foils for the layer.  Next, using my Lemon Lime Twist ink pad, starting at one side of the card, moving to the other, basically dragging my ink pad across the layer.  Once the entire layer was inked, I then inked up my Sponge Brayer in Night of Navy and rolled it over the layer diagonally.

Next, with my Large Letter Framelits, I die cut the letters twice; once using Petal Passion DSP, and then using fun foam. To colour the letters I used Old Olive & Bermuda Bay Stampin' Blends, then glued them to the fun foam.  To create the 'wave', I die cut Basic Black cardstock using my Swirly Scribbles Thinlits,  For the last steps, I glued the layer to the base of the card, then the 'wave', and then popped up the letters on Mini Dimensionals.

What do you think?  Kinda groovy?  Would you like to make this card with me?  Contact me.

Stampin' Blends & a Major Pop of Colour!

What do I love about Stampin' Blends?
Everything!
They're so easy to use, and blending is a breeze!  Plus the colours are fabulous!

For both cards I used Whisper White Notecards (& Envelopes), Petal Passion DSP, from the new Occasions catalogue for the layer and a stamp from Beautiful Bouquet for the sentiment.  On the above card, I used Old Olive and Daffodil Delight for the leaves, and Cherry Cobbler, Calypso Coral and Pumpkin Pie for the flowers.

After stamping the sentiment in Tuxedo Black Memento ink, I used one of the circles from Stitched Shapes to die cut.  Cute 'stitching'!  Next, using Layering Circles Dies, I cut Silver Foil paper, and layered it with the sentiment, then added dimensionals.

I used 3 Stampin' Blends for this card - Cherry Cobbler, Daffodil Delight and Old Olive.  It wasn't , and until I finished these card that I went WOW!  Bold and bright colours - not my 'norm', but I'm really liking them!  But, enough of what I think - I'd love to hear what you think!
